Dave O'Halloran Grand Champion Trophy

This all-over tournament trophy is awarded each year to the boat that accumulates the most points. The winner is calculated by adding up combined points from the below Point Table - one fish of each species.

The tournament Grand Champion Trophy winner will receive an individual trophy and have their name added to the Dave O'Halloran MCC Grand Champion Trophy. All registered boats are entered in this competition.

Special Rules
  • ALL Non Sonar 360 boats will receive 50 points towards Grand Championship Points
  • Bluefin Tuna is a Calcutta Only fish and does not count towards Grand Championship Points
  • Only 1 Marlin release per species will count toward Grand Champion

About the Award

The David O'Halloran Grand Champion award honors the overall points leader of the Montauk Canyon Challenge. Named after tournament founder Dave O'Halloran, this prestigious award recognizes excellence in offshore fishing and embodies the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship that Dave instilled in the tournament.

Dave O'Halloran founded the MCC in 2011 with a vision to reestablish Montauk as the premier offshore fishing destination in the Northeast. His dedication and vision laid the foundation for the tournament's success, making it only fitting that the overall points leader bears his name.
